Cherry trees are a popular fruit tree to grow in home gardens and orchards. They are relatively easy to care for and produce a large amount of fruit. A mature cherry tree can produce between 3 and 8 pounds of cherries.<\/p>\n

How many cherries does a cherry tree produce? <\/h2>\n

One mature, standard-size tart or sweet cherry tree will produce 30 to 50 quarts of cherries each year; a dwarf tree, about 10 to 15 quarts. Plant cherry trees in early spring or late fall (when the ground is soft and has a higher moisture content) in a sunny site with good air circulation and deep, well-drained soil.<\/p>\n

A sour dwarf cherry tree may produce 114-19 kg, while a semi-dwarf sour tree can give up to 454-68 kg (or 231-42 and 100-150 pounds, respectively) On the other hand, sweet cherries in full production capacity can give on average 4-10 tons per hectare (3272 to 8000 lbs.<\/p>\n
