Avocados are a nutritious and delicious fruit that can form part of a healthy, balanced diet. But just how many avocados can you expect to get from one tree?

As with other fruits, the exact number of avocados you can get from a tree will vary based on the variety and size of the tree but it is estimated that an average medium-sized tree can produce anywhere from between 30-200 avocados over a season. Of course, this will depend largely on the care given to the tree.

An avocado tree is like any other tree and needs to be nurtured and maintained in order for it to grow and produce fruit. A tree that is looked after properly and given adequate light, water and nutrition will yield more than a tree that is neglected. It’s also important to note that it can take an average of three to four years before an avocado tree is producing its full complement of fruit.

Fertilizer and Water

When an avocado tree is first established, it’s important to fertilize it with organic matter and to water it properly. It’s also a good idea to prune it regularly to help promote foliage growth. The amount of fertilization and water will vary based on the age and size of the tree, as well as the climate. But the general rule of thumb is to use a balanced fertilizer at least once per month and to water on a weekly basis.
