Avocados are perhaps the most popular superfoods of our times, largely due to its amazing taste and versatility. It packs an impressive punch of nutrients and minerals, along with plenty of healthy fats. So, it is not a surprise that it has also become a centerpiece of many diets and lifestyles.

But how many avocados grow on an avocado tree? Well, the answer isn’t as straightforward as we would like it to be because the number of avocados an avocado tree produces in a single season can depend on several factors, such as climate, soil stability, the age of the tree, and the type of avocado.

Generally, an average-sized avocado tree can produce anywhere between 7- 18 kilograms of fruit per season, which means that it can yield up to 560 avocados per season if all goes well. The size and shape of an avocado also varies: some avocados could be as small as a golf ball while others could easily be larger than a tennis ball.

However, these figures are just estimates. Aviv Markam, the chairman of the Israel Avocado Association, stated that the number of avocados that an avocado tree produces could vary a great deal and it could all depend on the kind of care and attention it gets. He said, “An avocado tree needs a lot of TLC. When taken care of properly, an average-sized avocado tree could easily produce up to 900 avocados in a single season. But if it lacks the TLC, it could yield only half of that number”.
