Palm trees are a beautiful addition to any home or garden, but their seeds can cause quite a nuisance. For starters, the tiny seeds can easily escape into your home, leaving debris on the floor, windows and even furniture. If that wasn’t bad enough, some treated palm tree seeds can be dangerous to animals and your kids, if consumed. What’s more, palm tree seeds can grow into new trees, creating an additional mess and taking up valuable space in your garden.

No matter how much of a nuisance the palm tree’s seeds may be, there are ways to reduce or completely stop the propagation of the trees. Doing so, may keep your garden or home clean and safe from any potential hazards that may come from consuming the seeds or having the unwanted trees grow.

The first method which can be used to stop palm tree seeds from sprouting is to remove the seeds from the original tree that’s producing them. This can be done by hand or mechanically, depending on the size of the tree and the amount of seed that needs to be removed.

The second method is to treat the seeds before they are spread. A number of treatments can be applied to the seeds, such as adding a chemical treatment to the soil where they are planted, or applying a physical barrier before they are planted.
